Anti Slavery Wales Conference 2026 (Digital)

Modern Slavery is a global challenge, with tens of millions of people worldwide living in conditions of modern slavery, including forced labour and forced marriages.

And it is taking place here in Wales. In 2025, more than 500 potential victims of modern slavery were identified by First Responders.

The Anti-Slavery Wales Conference has become an important annual event which brings together partners and organisations to network and share learning and experiences in response to modern slavery. This year’s conference will take place on 15 October 2026.

Co-hosted by Welsh Government, the Gwent Police and Crime Commissioner and the University of South Wales, it will take place at the University’s Newport campus and simultaneously available online.

The conference will provide an opportunity to hear from and network with frontline practitioners and experts, as well as hear from high-profile speakers including:

• Sioned Williams MS, Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Minister for Social Justice and Equality
• Jane Mudd, Gwent Police and Crime Commissioner 
• Eleanor Lyons, Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner

You can choose to join the conference either online via Microsoft Teams or by attending in-person at the University of South Wales in Newport. There are limited in-person tickets available – and so you are encouraged to book early.

The conference will be of interest to a wide range of people and organisations across the Welsh public, private or third sectors. This year we are focusing attention on the role of technology in the exploitation of children, and on housing-related exploitation, and so we would encourage practitioners working in the housing and local government sectors to join us. We are also very keen to invite participation from those who have lived experience of exploitation.
