Build a Fairer Future: Have your say on ethical supply chains

Overview

Cost: Free

The Welsh Government worked with partners and stakeholders to create the Code of Practice on Ethical Employment in Supply Chains in 2017. Its purpose is to articulate actions organisations can take to safeguard against unlawful and unethical employment practices in their operations and in their supply chains.

The Code contains 12 commitments across various issues including fair pay, modern slavery, and human rights. We are updating the Code to reflect learnings since its launch and to keep pace with current and future trends. We would like your input into this work.

Who should attend?

We encourage anyone with an interest in ethical practices and supply chains to attend, including representatives from public sector organisations, businesses and third sector organisations. We are holding two types of session and are keen to hear from as diverse a range of voices as possible. Please see below and when registering choose the session best for you. Reasonable adjustments available on request e.g. BSL interpreters.

Background

Signatories to the Code of practice are encouraged to work towards the twelve commitments and provide plans and reports on progress. Areas covered by the Code of practice include  anti-slavery, false self-employment, human rights, Living Wage, modern slavery and trafficking, procurement, prompt payment, supply chain management, Trade Unions, training, and whistleblowing.

Since the Code was established, there have been developments in employment, legislation and technology, and expectations on organisations and their supply chains have increased. Over 750 organisations across all sectors have signed up to the Code of Practice and we want to hear their views on it and our new proposals.
