During this workshop, we will equip you with the essential tools, knowledge and insights to help you design your own business growth plan and enhance your own personal capabilities.
The primary outcome of participation in the programme is to equip you with the skills to enable you to identify current key issues facing the development of your business, enhance your own personal capabilities, develop an innovation mindset and to design your own business growth plan.
This workshop will deliver elements of business growth plan, split into sessions covering theory as well as practical examples and best practice.
Topics covered will include -
Creating an Executive Summary – how to write an Executive Summary to help you position your business in your marketplace.
Business Overview – looking at what business structure might be appropriate for you, matters to consider when running a business [for example VAT, employer contributions, taxes, HR] and a look at the common reasons for business failure [so you don’t make the same mistakes].
Start-up costs – a look at costs incurred before you start your business.
Products and Services – a look at how to price your product or service, understanding your Gross Profit Margin, why Breakeven Analysis is important, what are the Product Life Cycles and an overview of Intellectual Property Rights.
Strengths and Opportunities / Weaknesses and Threats – selling the first two, finding ways to minimise the other two.
Market and Competition – a look at market research, defining your market and who you will sell to, understanding the competitive forces of your industry and a look at what outside of your control might impact upon your business and your customers buying habits.
Marketing and Implementation Strategy – getting you to think about your Unique Selling Point, understanding how to market your product or service, getting you to think more about your customers and a brief overview of digital marketing and of selling techniques.
Financial Analysis – a look at the difference between profit and cash, a brief description of the key financial statements, helping you manage your money by producing a financial forecast, understanding how managing your receipts, payments and stock impacts upon cash flow and the types of finance available to you.
