This practical session demystifies Cyber Essentials for Start Up’s, by breaking down the certification process and its five core technical controls. Participants will explore how to implement firewalls, secure configuration, user access control, malware protection, and security update management to defend against common cyber threats. We will guide you through the entire journey, from completing the self-assessment questionnaire to achieving official certification. By the end of this session, you will have a clear, actionable roadmap to secure your organisation's data and demonstrate your commitment to cyber security.

Presenter Bio - 

Huw is the director of an approved Cyber Essentials certification body based in north Wales. He was one of the first in the UK to be accredited as a CE Cyber Advisor with the National Cyber Security Centre, and is able to deliver CE and CE+ in English or Welsh.
