Net Zero Industry Wales presents EmpowerCymru — a one-day conference will bring together industries, investors, colleges and universities, think tanks, local government and public sector, and thought-leaders to discuss experiences and strategies to support Wales’ journey to net zero. .
Programme:
Gain real insights and learnings from industry leaders and other private and public sector stakeholders on what ‘green’ really means for Wales, including how we can build our own industrial strategy that complements the UK government’s Industry 2035 plan, and how Welsh industry can deliver its net zero goals.
Connect with peers, exchange ideas, and build valuable partnerships while you take a tour around Techniquest’s science discovery centre.
In collaboration with Sweetmans & Partners, you’ll be invited to take part in a ‘mini hackathon’ where, together, we’ll help develop solutions to the challenges being faced in Welsh industry.
Our challenge question for 2025 is:
In teams of four to five, you’ll develop your proposal in response to the challenge question, before having the chance to vote for the concept that you’d like NZIW to support and help take forward.

Join us for a 'fireside' chat between NZIW CEO, Ben Burggraaf, Techniquest's Head of Education and Engagement, Andrea Meyrick, and the Office of the Future Generations Commissioner — who will discuss how we can engage future generations in Wales' net zero goals and promote STEM subjects.
