Get the most out of your grass: Grassland management workshop

Overview

Cost: Free

Do you want to:

  • Start a rotational grazing system on your farm? Or see if it’s an option for you?
  • Increase your livestock performance?
  • Improve the health and productivity of your pasture?
  • Reduce feed costs and reliance on supplements?

If yes, join Farming Connect on a practical workshop on grassland management, focusing on rotational grazing principles.

During the workshop, you’ll learn:

  • The principles of rotational grazing and its benefits for your farm.
  • How to measure key pasture information, such as DM yield, grazing covers etc.
  • How to use these measurements to plan your grazing rotations and optimise stocking rates.
  • Techniques on electric fencing to create effective grazing paddocks.
  • Introduction to grazing softwares on the market.

During the workshop we will also have:

  • Hands-on demonstrations of measuring grass and fencing equipment.
  • Farm visit to a local farmer who has successfully implemented rotational grazing for many years, plus all grass wintering.
  • Plenty of opportunities for Q&A to answer your questions and concerns.

To book your place for this workshop, register below by 10am on 27/06/24 or contact Menna Williams: menna.williams@menterabusnes.co.uk / 07399 849 148
