Horticulture Tourism – Considerations for Open Farms/Sites - West

If ‘Yes’ then this training session is a key ‘must do’ to help you be compliant and successful!

 

Alison Harvey from Rural Advisor will be running the workshops that aim to cover a wide variety of considerations. The training will cover:

Prior preparations: General facilities, Market research, Brand identity and logo, Access, Car parking, Who are you being open to – general public, groups, parties, schools, Planning permission, Environmental Health, Licence and Permits – Local Authority.

Essentials: Risk assessments, Insurance, First aid provisions, Food hygiene / HACCP, Ticket system v’s walk in, Cash / cashless.

Day to day logistics: Main attraction, Extra entertainment / income, Opening times, Pricing structure / profit required, Marketing, Social Media, Staff, Provision of refreshments, Toilets.

 

The day will comprise of a mixture of engaging presentations, interactive sessions and (weather permitting) an outdoor tour. Please ensure you bring sensible footwear and warm clothing.

 

Registration will be from 09:30am. Training will begin at 10:00am with the aim to finish at 15:30pm.

Lunch will be provided – please state in the booking form if you have any dietary requirements.
