Join us for an in-depth session delivered by David Talbot of ADAS focused on the critical aspects of growing native trees and hedging plants, with an emphasis on the importance of keeping growth within height specifications by providing sufficient nutrition to achieve the necessary height, whilst avoiding excessive growth. Other techniques that help to manage vigour and enhance quality through the production of a fibrous root system will also be covered. This webinar will explore the ongoing importance of maintaining control of key pests and diseases which can also impact on crop vigour and height. This session will also cover important pre harvest treatments that can help to enhance the onset of dormancy ahead of the lifting season.
David will be joined by Jonathan Tiller from Trees for Tomorrow, a small not-for-profit nursery based in Pembrokeshire that specialises in local provenance native trees, Jonathan will share his hands on experience of using biocontrol’s for aphid management and encouraging beneficial insect populations on site.
