Improving soil health and establish a deferred grazing system/rotational grazing at Hafod y Llyn

Overview

Cost: Free

Join us at Hafod y Llyn Isaf, which is part of the Farming Connect Our Farms network to find out more about their journey of introducing a deferred rotational grazing system to improve soil health.

Teleri and Ned are tenants of the National Trust at Hafod y Llyn Isaf and are keen to develop a regenerative grazing system that does not require artificial inputs and works in harmony with the valuable ecosystem on the farm.

In order to achieve this, the farm is trialing a grazing system that builds organic matter and develops the soil structure to provide year-round grazing for the cattle which is prone to regular flooding.

This on-farm event will include a farm walk to see the on-going project whilst Lynfa Davies, Biodiversity Specialist, and Non Williams, Carbon Specialist, from Farming Connect will be discussing and demonstrating the project findings to date, which includes soil health and biodiversity characteristics.

Booking is not essential but encouraged for catering purposes.
