Introduction to Food Microbiology Workshop

Microbiological hazards can be a significant risk for most food businesses. This workshop will support you in developing an understanding of the micro-organisms of concern to your products and processes. We will also share ways to control, manage and monitor these in your manufacturing site.

In the workshop we will discuss the following:

  • Groups of micro-organisms​
  • Growth and survival of micro-organisms in food
  • Food micro-organisms of concern
  • How to develop a food microbiological testing plan
  • How to interpret microbiological test results
  • Sources of information for microbiological guidelines
  • Swabbing and environmental monitoring

This is an interactive workshop held at ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre.

Attendance costs

Depending on your company size and eligibility, attendance at these workshops can be partially or fully funded.

The cost for each delegate attending the workshop will vary depending on the size of the company they work for. This is determined by Welsh Government funding regulations.

In the workshop registration form, you will be asked to provide company Subsidy Control information for the past three years and confirm the size of your company. Please refer to your finance business team to ensure this information is accurate as it may be subject to audit.
