Overview

Cost: Free

Join us at Nant Y Fran,  which is part of the Farming Connect Our Farms network to find out more about the work they have done through this grazing season to better understand and improve their soil health following a wet winter and spring.
Gareth Jones, Nant Y Fran will be  sharing his journey of converting the farm to an autumn calving dairy farm, diversification and discussion following a difficult spring and delayed turn out for the herd.

We will be joined by experienced consultant and independent soil specialist Chris Duller who will talk about the on-going farm trail at Nant y Fran looking at assessing the soil and evelating compaction. During the farm walk, the machinery available to rectify compaction issues will be demonstrated as discussions will focus on the economic and environmental costs of compacted soils for the farm business.
