Summary
This event is delivered in collaboration with Powys County Council. Businesses are invited to attend a fully funded online event designed to support existing and prospective suppliers to find, bid for and win public sector contracts, while gaining a clear understanding of recent changes to procurement legislation. The sessions will include guidance on registering on the new Central Digital Platform (CDP), which suppliers will need to use when bidding for or quoting on public sector opportunities, alongside practical tips to help strengthen bids and tenders.
Following the introduction of the Procurement Act 2023 and the Social Partnership and Public Procurement (Wales) Act 2023, businesses can expect a procurement process that is simpler, more flexible and more transparent when competing for public sector work.
What will the event cover?
• An introduction to the Procurement Act 2023, including what the changes mean for suppliers and how to comply with the new legislation. This will cover registration on the Central Digital Platform (CDP), how to locate your unique supplier identifier (PPON), and why this is now a mandatory requirement when tendering for or providing quotations to the public sector.
• Getting fit to tender, with practical advice on improving your Sell2Wales profile, using e procurement platforms such as eTenderWales, and meeting requirements around environmental management and equality and diversity. The session will also share useful tips on implementing clear policies, procedures and standards, this to help make future bids and tenders more robust.
• Added value and social value, including Community Benefits, how to demonstrate social value effectively, and considerations such as the Disability Confident Scheme.
