Reshaping the Future of Welsh Government Employability Support

The Welsh Government is embarking on an ambitious journey to transform employability support across Wales, and we want you to be part of it.

We're hosting four regional engagement events that will help shape a new, integrated Welsh Government Employability Support Programme that works for everyone in Wales.

Why these events matter

We're bringing together key stakeholders to design a programme that builds on the success of current initiatives like ReAct+, Communities for Work+ and Jobs Growth Wales+.

What to expect

During these interactive sessions, you'll:

  • Share your expertise and lived experiences of delivering, accessing or overseeing employability programmes
  • Contribute to discussions on crucial topics including referral routes, support mechanisms and measuring success
  • Help propose innovative solutions for the future of Welsh Government employment support in Wales
  • Network with diverse stakeholders from across the employability sector

Who should attend?

We are seeking participation from stakeholders who:

  • Have experience delivering employability programmes - Welsh Government, UK Government, local authority for example
  • Work in employability provision across Wales
  • Work with marginalised groups seeking employment
  • Have insights into regional employment needs

Additional information

  • Attendance is by registration only.
  • To register you must complete all 4 steps in the booking system. Once you have completed these steps you should receive an automated booking confirmation. If you experience any issues with booking, please contact EmployabilitySupport@gov.wales 
  • Participation in the event is subject to review by Welsh Government. We wish to capture a broad range of views so the number of places per organisation and / or sector at each event will be managed accordingly.
  • We reserve the right to decline registrations. If your registration is declined, you will be notified of this by e-mail.

By registering for the event, you agree that the personal data you submit as part of your registration can be used for the following purposes:

  • To communicate with you regarding the event you have registered
  • To send you resource documents
  • To send a survey for the event
  • To send information to follow up with engagement on the Employability Support Programme

Lawful basis for processing

The Welsh Government’s Employability Division (‘we’) will be the data controller for the personal data you provide to participate in this event. The information will be processed as part of our public task and the official authority vested in us to undertake the core role and functions of the Welsh Government.

What personal data we will collect and process

Personal data is defined under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) as ‘any information relating to an identifiable person who can be directly or indirectly identified by reference to an identifier’.

To send you information about the event we will gather personal data including:

  • Name
  • E-mail address
  • Telephone number
  • Organisation name
  • Organisation address
  • Job role
  • Local authority
  • Language preference

We may also gather ‘special category data’ to ensure any additional requirements are accommodated during the event:

  • Accessibility requirements
  • Dietary requirements

This information is optional, processed by consent and will be deleted after the event.

In the interests of networking during the event, your name, organisation name and job role will be shared with other registered attendees. If you would prefer us not to do this, please let us know by e-mailing EmployabilitySupport@gov.wales.

During the event, we will collect feedback and your opinions on subject matters discussed. No personal information will be recorded for any verbal feedback or opinions you provide. We will use the interactive platform Slido ( www.slido.com ) to collect digital feedback and opinions. You do not need to provide personal information to use Slido, but if you choose to provide personal information to join our Slido event session, this will be processed as part of our privacy policy and the terms of the Slido privacy policy which can be accessed via  https://www.slido.com/terms#gdpr .

Photography may be taken at the event and used for the following purposes:

  • To document the event
  • To promote the event on social media and in newsletters.

If you do not wish to have your photograph taken and / or published, please let us know by e-mailing EmployabilitySupport@gov.wales. You can also notify us on the day during registration if you do not wish to have your photograph taken. 

Who will have access to your data

The collected information will be accessible by Welsh Government and contracted support teams and its system technical administrators who support the I.T. system. System technical administrators will not use your details in any way.   

How long your details are kept for

Your personal data will be retained on secure Welsh Government IT systems for up to 7 years in line with the Welsh Government retention policy after which time it will be securely destroyed. We may delete the information sooner if it is no longer being used.

Your individual rights

Under data protection legislation, you have the right to:

  • Be informed of the personal data Welsh Government holds about you and to access it
  • Require us to rectify inaccuracies in that data
  • Object to or restrict processing (in certain circumstances)
  • Request your data to be 'erased' (in certain circumstances)
  • Data portability (in certain circumstances)
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) who is our independent regulator for data protection
