Smart Towns Wales

Smart Towns Wales is a Welsh Government funded programme which supports business, towns and councils to harness the power of data and technology to help regenerate their high streets. This session will provide a comprehensive understanding of what it means to be a smart town, the benefits for your business, and practical steps to move forward.

The best part? You don't need to be a tech expert to make a meaningful impact. Smart technology offers practical solutions to everyday challenges, helping your business and high street thrive.

What will the session cover?

This workshop will offer an introduction to Smart Towns, focusing on the real life benefits for you business, including examples of business across Wales who are already benefitting from the technology.

Examples include:

· Monitoring footfall to make efficiencies and identify opportunities

· Email marketing/ Collaborative marketing with your town to increase visits

· Using sensors for routine monitoring and reducing running costs

· How to benefit from digital platforms/ apps

This session will provide an overview with an opportunity to ask questions, and signposting to further support.

Who is this session for?

This session is aimed at high street business owners and managers looking to grow and optimise their business. The session will assume no prior technical knowledge and steer clear of tech jargon, focusing on the benefits to your business.

About the speaker

Meet Kiki Rees-Stavros, a key driving force behind the Smart Towns Wales project. As Project Manager, Kiki collaborates closely with businesses, communities, and decision makers, supporting them to use data and technology to regenerate their highstreets.

With a background in language teaching and real-life experience running a successful business, Kiki's focus is squarely on the real-world benefits that businesses and communities can reap. She's all about making things practical and understandable, steering clear of jargon and tech-talk.
