Social Model of Disability

Overview

Cost: Free

This webinar is looking at the Social Model of Disability.  The Social Model of Disability encourages us to explore disability not as an individual impairment but as a product of societal structures, attitudes, and practices.

We will cover the following:

  • The difference between the medical model and the social model of disability.
  • The use of appropriate language to be used when discussing disabled people.
  • How you can support disabled staff, colleagues, customers and clients.
  • Reasonable adjustments, what are they, how can they be implemented and the benefits this can have not only to the individual but also your business.
  • How to ensure that your recruitment process is fully inclusive.

This event is delivered by Business Wales on behalf of the Welsh Government.
