The Forage Advantage: Boosting lamb performance at Treforgan Farm

Overview

Cost: Free

Join us for a farm walk looking at ways to improve lamb growth rates, reduce input costs, and enhance soil health. We will hear from David and William Lewis, Treforgan Farm about the recent trial results investigating the benefits of multi-species leys and high sugar grass varieties for finishing lambs. Also forage expert Harley Brown-Keech, Germinal will be discussing:

  • The impact of these forages on lamb growth rates and overall performance;
  • How multi-species leys can improve soil structure, nutrient cycling, and biodiversity, while high sugar grasses can enhance palatability and energy intake for lambs;
  • Practical tips and advice on establishing and managing these leys on your own farm.

This event is arranged in conjunction with Dunbia. Food will be provided at the end of the event therefore please book in advance.

We look forward to welcoming you there.
