AI has got better. So we have to get better at using it.

Using AI and understanding AI are not the same thing.

This practical, non-technical workshop is designed for business owners, managers and employees who have heard about AI, may already be experimenting with it, but want a clearer understanding of what it can genuinely do, where it can fail and how to use it responsibly in everyday work.

This is not a ChatGPT course, a Copilot course, a Claude course or a lesson in the latest AI tool. The tools will keep changing. The aim is to build the transferable foundations that help you use whichever AI system you choose more confidently and effectively.

• Why a polished, confident AI answer can still be incomplete or wrong
• How to think about privacy, confidentiality, accuracy and accountability
• How to give AI useful context and brief it clearly
• How to question assumptions, challenge outputs and ask for evidence
• How to verify AI-generated information before relying on it
• How to recognise when a task or decision needs human judgement
• How stronger foundations prepare you for more advanced uses such as research, workflows, automation and agents

Practical session

This is a hands-on workshop. Bring your laptop if you would like to prompt along and work through the exercises during the session.

You can use whichever AI tool you already have access to. The workshop is not platform-specific and the underlying methods apply across tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini and others.

Who is this workshop for?

The session is suitable for business owners, managers and employees at any level of AI experience. You do not need technical knowledge or previous AI training.

It is particularly useful if you or your team are already experimenting with AI but do not yet have a shared understanding of safe use, verification, data boundaries or what good AI use should look like across the business.

About the workshop leader

The workshop is delivered by Steve Huggett, a digital transformation specialist, AI consultant and educator with more than 35 years' experience helping organisations understand and adopt new technology.

Since 2023, Steve has introduced more than 400 people to practical AI through workshops, webinars, talks and demonstrations, with more than 300 people completing his AI Foundations programme.

His approach is practical and jargon-free. The focus is not simply on learning a particular tool, but on understanding how to use AI confidently, safely and effectively in real business situations.

Steve's AI training is delivered under the AI Elevator Program, the dedicated AI training and education part of IT Associates.

This workshop forms part of the Understand AI, Think with AI, Build with AI series. Each workshop stands alone, so you can attend this session without attending the others.

Spaces are limited. Attendees are welcome to bring a laptop if they would like to prompt along and complete the practical exercises. The session is tool-independent, so attendees may use whichever AI platform they already have access to.

Event changes and cancellation

IT Associates reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the content, format, venue, date or timing of an event where circumstances make this necessary.

In exceptional circumstances an event may be cancelled or rescheduled. Registered delegates will be informed as soon as reasonably possible.

Where an event has been paid for and IT Associates cancels the event without providing a suitable alternative, any fees paid directly to IT Associates for that event will be refunded.

Delegate cancellation

Delegates who can no longer attend should cancel their booking using the facility provided in their booking confirmation where available.

Individual event listings may contain additional cancellation or refund conditions, particularly for paid events.

Where statutory cancellation rights apply, these will not be affected by these terms.

Online events

Delegates are responsible for having suitable equipment, software and internet access to participate in online events.

IT Associates cannot accept responsibility for internet connectivity, equipment failure or other technical issues outside its reasonable control.

Face-to-face events

Unless specifically stated in the event information, delegates are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and associated costs.

Training materials and intellectual property

Training materials, presentations, exercises, guides, documents and other materials supplied by IT Associates or under the AI Elevator Program remain the intellectual property of IT Associates or the relevant copyright owner unless otherwise stated.

Materials are provided for the personal or internal business use of attendees.

They must not be reproduced, distributed, published, sold, used to deliver training to others or commercially exploited without prior written permission.

Training and information

Workshops, webinars and training are provided for educational and informational purposes.

Examples and demonstrations are intended to help attendees understand the subjects being discussed. They may need to be adapted to the specific circumstances of an individual or organisation.

Where artificial intelligence, software or third-party online services are demonstrated, those services may change over time. Their availability, functionality, terms and outputs are outside the control of IT Associates.

Delegates and their organisations remain responsible for decisions they make and for their subsequent use of information, techniques, software or artificial intelligence discussed during an event.

Liability

IT Associates will take reasonable care in preparing and delivering its training and events.

Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or restrict liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Variations

Any variation to these terms must be agreed in writing by IT Associates.
