As part of Farming Connect's annual series of 22 on-farm events, Marc, Wynn and Bethan Griffiths welcome you to the Farming Connect Our Farms Network open day at Cilthrew, to see and hear more about the on-farm trials they are undertaking as part of the network.

During the farm walk, expert speakers will demonstrate and discuss the on-farm trials on-going at Cilthrew and the following topics will be covered:

• Assessing biological products’ impact on grass quality and yield
• Nitrogen Use Efficiency for Optimal Fodder Beet Yield
• Did it stand the test: Drought tolerant grazing leys
• Welsh Herbal Ley Project: Are multi-species swards as diverse as Welsh farms?

About Cilthrew:

Located in Montgomeryshire, Cilthrew is a 120ha farm

The farm carries 100 cattle and a flock of 520 breeding ewes.

As part of the Our Farms Network, Cilthrew are focusing on:

• Finding a drought tolerant pasture / mixed pasture
• Making sure that the farm is in the best possible place for the upcoming changes in agricultural policy and to ensure that the business is sustainable and prosperous

There will also be an opportunity to catch-up with industry stakeholders and see demonstrations of various technologies related to the project work on various stalls.

Food will be provided following the farm walk.

Booking not essential but encouraged for catering purposes.
