Powys County Council is hosting a virtual “Meet the Buyer” event to engage not-for-profit organisations, and those willing to transition, who are interested in delivering registered children’s residential care from within a local authority-owned home in North Powys.
The event will provide an overview of the Council’s commissioning intentions and the opportunity to operate a fully compliant children’s home, offering a safe, nurturing and homely environment for a small number of children and young people.
This opportunity is aligned with the Welsh Government’s not-for-profit agenda, with a clear expectation that services are delivered on a not-for-profit basis or transition to this model in line with national requirements and within the commissioning timescales.
The session will give prospective providers an opportunity to:
• Learn more about the service requirement and vision
• Understand the commissioning approach and next steps
• Engage directly with the Council and ask questions
• Consider involvement in the forthcoming tender process
The event forms part of Powys County Council’s wider approach to strengthening local provision and improving outcomes for children by developing sustainable, high-quality care closer to home.
